Binal Patel Mental Health Practitioner

Binal Patel is a Mental Health Nurse (registered with the NMC) and has completed a degree in Psychology and a Masters in Occupational Psychology. She has over thirteen years of experience working within NHS Mental Health Services, supporting children, young people and adults with mild to severe mental health difficulties.

 

As a mental health practitioner, she can support with mental health difficulties such as depression and anxiety, low mood and worry management. She can support with goal setting, promoting sleep hygiene, building self-esteem and confidence, resilience building and managing difficult emotions. This is done by undertaking assessments of people’s difficulties, providing psychoeducation, delivering evidence-based therapeutic interventions, and signposting and social prescribing. She adopts a ‘partnership approach’ engaging people in the positive management of health and wellbeing.

Mental Health Difficulties

Binal Patel is a Mental Health Nurse (registered with the NMC) and has completed a degree in Psychology and a master’s in occupational psychology. She has extensive experience working within NHS Mental Health Services, supporting people with mild to severe mental health difficulties. She is currently working in the NHS as a Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Practitioner, supporting pregnant women, new mothers, and their families. 

She has extensive experience of working in a variety of settings, in different roles such as a staff nurse, deputy ward manager, clinical lead and senior mental health practitioner. She has worked in schools, within the criminal justice system and in community and inpatient services. These roles also involved delivering training and providing consultations to various professionals.

Binal has also worked to support the engagement of service users, carers and families in bringing out changes and improvements to the way mental health services are planned and delivered. Coproduction of service improvement projects, training Experts by experience, and encouraging staff to deliver recovery focused services.
